Company description:: “Knowing what you want from work…as well as what you don’t want, can go a long way in addressing the stress and anxiety of today’s ever-changing, chaotic workplace” SAYS Regan. “Developing a balanced work-life plan allows you to get a good sense of your own personal boundaries. That alone would greatly de-stress the lives of you and your loved ones.”
TOP TEN TIPS TO REDUCE STRESS:
1. Focus on the Present Moment: When we become overwhelmed with detail and have too little time to spare, we become frantic and anxious. Choose to do something for yourself to lessen your stress by focusing on this moment. Then do things you know will relax you. Make a list of those things and choose times in the day to do them if even for 2 or three minutes, like listening to soothing music, or taking a mental break by focusing on a peaceful image.
2. Listen to Your Own Needs. Each of us has a voice inside that tells us what is right for us. It is learning to trust that voice by turning down the volume on worry and disciplining yourself to listen to the wise voice inside that creates a state of calm and centeredness. Remember: ‘Deep down you do you know what’s right for you. Can you believe that you have the power to do what needs to be done?’
3. Seek out like-minded people who are interested in consciously trying to be caring, respectful and appreciative. Although this might seem very basic, organizational civility can make a huge difference to stress level. Remember: ‘The only behaviour you can control is your own, so start with you and see what happens. You will be surprised.’
4. Empower Yourself with Choice. The one thing that we have as human beings is the ability to choose. It took you a long time to get to the state of imbalance that you are now experiencing. But you got yourself in and you can get yourself out. It is important to remember a time when you felt you were balanced. Consciously reflect on that moment or time. Remember: ‘Attitude, skills and values … what combination will best support your efforts back to balance?’
5. Create a Support Network: Find uplifting people who are interested in finding winning solutions, and support each other. Remember: ‘You are not alone and you can be supported by healthy interdependance. Extending yourself to others, within a respectful framework can be helpful to everyone.’
