Company description:: New Author Leanda Wood has just had her first novel published, which was released on 3rd March 2005.
Leanda's book "There Are No Children Here" is a tragic and compelling story about the struggle and trials of Ayala Bergman, a young Jewish girl growing up in Nazi occupied Poland during the Second World War. It mirrors the horrors of the holocaust and portrays the suffering of the Jews in the Nazi concentration camps. It's release comes just weeks after the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
“I always had an active imagination when I was young, and was always writing short stories and poems,” says Leanda.
"I have always had a love of history also, and a morbid fascination if you like, with the tragic era of the holocaust, and the rise of Hitler," says Leanda. "I used to watch all the documentaries and history programmes when I was growing up, and had so much sympathy for the poor victims when I saw the suffering they endured, and I always knew that one day I would collect enough knowledge to be able to write about it."
Leanda Wood had already been recognised locally as an inspiring and up and coming novelist.
"I hope people will enjoy my work. It is my first novel so I hope that people will buy it and give me plenty of feedback on it. I’m also excited that the release is just weeks after the liberation of Auschwitz. It kind of puts it's in the spotlight somewhat I hope," say's the new writer. "I think it is important that people never forget what happened sixty years ago, and that as the generations move on, the memory of the victims stays alive.
Leanda's book is for sale at most leading bookstores and is selling quite well online at Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.com
